Five Weekend Learning Program in Psychotherapy and Counselling.Dr. Mel Borins –Course Director This interactive program will provide an intensive year-long introductory course on current approaches and techniques to help physicians increase their knowledge and clinical skills in office counselling and psychotherapy. Participants will develop enhanced ability to work with psychosocial issues and the patient-doctor relationship. Principles of psychotherapy will be emphasized.
Entry level concepts and skills will encourage physicians who are starting to include counselling / psychotherapy into their practice. Those more experienced will increase their level of competence and confidence by examining their own learning needs and developing strategies to strengthen and reinforce their own expertise. The emphasis will be on active participation, including “hands-on” practice and mentoring with skilled clinicians.
